Shishir Kumar is a graded artist (Prasar Bharati) who specializes in the art forms of Carnatic, Western Classical, Jazz and Light Music. From the early age of four, Shishir started learning Carnatic vocal from Smt. Radhika Murthy, Smt. Ranjini Swamy, NJ and currently undergoing advanced vocal training from Smt. Bhavadhaarini Anantaraman, Chennai, India.

When Shishir was 11, he began to learn western classical and earning spots in various jazz ensembles. Showing interest in instrumental Carnatic music, Shishir started learning under the guidance of Guru Shri. Janardhan. Shishir is blessed to have learnt from maestro Padmashri Dr. Kadri Gopalnath during his summer visits to India. Shishir is currently undergoing advanced training from Kalaimamani Shri. K. V. Ramanujam, Chennai, India.

A much sought after performer in USA and abroad, Shishir has won numerous awards and accolades from various organizations such as All India Radio (AIR) Chennai, Bharati Yuva Kendra Trust Chennai, Saptami Foundation USA, Nadasudha Inc., USA, Cleveland Tyagaraja Festival USA to name few. Shishir is a regular performer during the December music season at various prestigious locations in India and abroad.
