On 23rd July 2016 (Sunday) at 7.15 PM; Shishir kumar performed an excellent concert on Saxophone at VDS. This is his maiden concert here. The young musician from New Jersey (USA) having fine knowledge in music and also handling the difficult instrument smoothly. He has been trained very well by guru Janarthanan.
Selections of the kritis for the concert is good and from different composers. Sub main nagabooshani a rare raga – played the alapana very well, Muthaippu swaram was well executed for maravairi ramani. Main anandhabhairavi – alapana had some nice pidis, kriti mariveregathi was rendered very well. Kalpana swaram had variety.
Violinist S. Subasree replied suitably. Mridangam by V. Balaji gave a very good support.
